As you are on this page, I presume that you know or suspect that you are, or someone you care about is, suffering from the after effects of some type of trauma. Be reassured help is available at Urban Hypnotherapy. There is every opportunity to feel better and function better. Dealing with both the anxiety symptoms and the resolving the emotions of trauma itself is what I specialise in helping my client with. Come and find out how you can have more peace and joy. For some of you that may seem a tall order, however there is much that you can discover about your mind/brain/heart's recovery ability. As part of the Trauma and Recovery work it becomes important to effectively deal with the type of trauma that is at the cause of the symptoms that you, or your loved one, have been suffering from.
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Physical and/or Emotional Abuse
Acute Accidental Physical Body and/or Brain Trauma
These are the most common types of Trauma that I help my clients move into Recovery from, although there are many more kinds of Trauma that we can together work on to help you to overcome your suffering. There is now a wealth of research related to the effects of complex trauma on the brain. Those effects become evident right through the entire life cycle unless, you do deal with them effectively. Research into neuroplasticity has also identified the capacity for thebrain/mind and emotionsto repair and so therefore enabling those affected to recover and these research findings have substantial implications for mental health and human recovery responses.* You'll find this is especially sothrough the combination of Hypnotherapy, HypnoAnalysis and Psychotherapy. In all the years of working with Trauma that is what I have noticed is most effective.

Understanding what Happens in Trauma
To better understand the neurological process of what happens: When the habit, of mind/emotion/body occurs, of reconnecting with the prior experience, the brain chemistry replicates exactly what occurred the first time. In other words it means that biologically (biochemically) the person has not been able to change since that event and the emotions from that event give a burst of energy that becomes addictive. Then, as it is connecting that with the situations and problems encountered in life it, for many, it reaffirms the limitations of having been once again triggered into those same scenarios of emotions/physical experiences/ undermining thoughts. For some this is so ‘behind the scenes’ they only know that they feel stuck and something needs to change.
This is where it becomes relevant, to ‘in-the-moment’ life experience, because the body in the now, believes those same conditions from the past are again present. In the here and now.
The negative feedback loop this creates, runs over and over and over again between body sensations, emotions and mind. This effectively means that the persons experience in mind, in emotions and in body; has become so hooked into the past that being in and enjoying the present moment is sometimes, or even often, difficult.
It is like, automatically without conscious desire to do so, living life with the eyes firmly fixed, on and in, the past.
Every person, every experience, every place and every event that we have encountered in life have a neurological network in your brain. These are the ‘Networks of your Past’ and are certainly including the connected emotions.
What all this means for change, from just the conscious thinking level, is that when you choose to do something to change it’s at first going to feel uneasy and uncomfortable, in the body/emotions first and then the mind, because you are stepping into new territory, the unknown!
That uneasy and uncomfortable feeling is usually enough to make most people go back to the known. Even though that isn’t good either, it is the familiar.
With a combination of Hypnotherapy, Psychotherapy and Hypnoanalysis we can step out of that ever circling feedback loop. So that change can take place. Via an easier and more effective way to step into the unknown and on into a better life.
It is precisely when we step, effectively, into that new unknown, that we build the only real way of creating the better future wanted by you.
Neuroscience and Quantum Physics have a lot to teach us about how to restructure and unwire, and then to purposely rewire our brain and it’s neural pathways, to build a more beneficial life experience. We are shown that to do this we need to improve our environment specifically through a restructure of our own internalemotionalenvironment. This is where Hypnosis work shines!
