'Be Inspired' Series offers quick bite-sized inspirations to be and feel better in your life experience. Start learning how to make a difference daily in your life, starting today!
In Episode 7 we are encouraged to take the time to fully appreciate being in the moment and the benefits that mindful living can bring not only for ourselves, but also for those we connect with.
Hi  I’m Urban Sundvall and I’d like to welcome everyone to Episode 7 in the renamed “Be Inspired Series”  so that we can all learn to be inspired to use our minds  and our heart on a daily basis. To inspire ourselves for a better life.
These ‘bite sized’ episodes are designed to easily chew them over, to gain clarity in what it means & How large the value of apply it In Your life is, for You.
I wrote something a while ago that I’d like to explore a bit further.
“Taking time to savour life moment by moment is something many believe to take effort in practice and yet, may instead be a practice in effortlessness and open hearted joy...”
Urban Sundvall
Isn’t it interesting that through our efforts to make life better what we are sometimes doing, is adding unnecessary pressure by overthinking and overdoing and therefore creating over-negative emotional experiences. Often perhaps doing so in ways that take us away from the simplicity of just having the sense of being in the moment and savouring it, for whatever it brings.
How often do you manage to give your full attention to appreciate the place you are in, the person you are with?
Even perhaps full attention to the opportunities that become available as you do. Just because you do take that moment.
That appreciative moment to see what can be seen, hear what can be heard and feel what you can.
The next things I’ll write/talk about  are expressed with intention of wanting to help open eyes and minds to better ways. Bear in mind it has zero criticism content. So please do accept it the way it’s intended.
I find it curious that in all the years of working with individuals, and yes that has included myself, that those of us who most need to embrace ‘taking the time’ to be in the moment are often the ones who are so busy ‘trying’ to create a great life, that all those wonderful opportunities are partially or even completely bypassed.
The real danger, of letting those moments one pass by, is not that one could have felt better in that moment, even though that is really very important. It’s actually the long term effects of not having taken the opportunity to build those better relationships, with both others and oneself.
I have worked with many clients in their later years who have come to realise that.
Certainly the time spent in working away from their home environment, to earn extra money for their family, paid great dividends in their standard of living. Even sometimes ensuring their children had better educational opportunities.
It is however, the very fabric, the quality, of the family relationships that these clients tell me they feel has in some ways been lacking. I can personally agree with that, as our father worked away a lot when my siblings and I were young, which made later communication somewhat more difficult.
Please understand that in these clients and my view our parents were kind and caring people, it’s just the layers of built up close ‘in the moment’ contact that was missing at crucial times.
The long term effects, often, though not always, can have generational significance. What I mean is that, because children learn more from what they see than from what they hear, behavioural habits establish. In my case I was, as a young father, far too much an absent one, not because of working away but because of working too many hours. It was also the same for those clients I mentioned.
Again remember zero criticism intended here. Instead it is about  saying that if your life circumstances dictates that you have to work away, just really make sure that you are fully present when home.
Even in other circumstances, which take your attention away from any present moment, it is about a discovery that it is actually easier to learn the habit of having the sense of being in the moment and savouring it, for whatever it brings.
Especially with the people important to you and your life.
Its just about stopping (Pause) and taking note of what your senses are bringing you, sights, sounds and touch. Even tastes and smells.
Therefore taking you away from both past and future thinking. As you allow yourself to connect with those sensory experiences it becomes easier to connect with the people you are with and where you are. Therefore easy to just be in the moment, especially as you let yourself see more, hear more feel more, taste and smell more...
It is also interesting that smells so easily bypass thought by building new neural pathways, as you connect all those sensory experiences with being present in where you are and who is present . What also happens is those pathways become more established in memory because of the multi-sensory experience.
So is Mindfulness Meditation of value? Absolutely!
And yet is taking the Actions of mindfull living that has the most influence on the people the people we choose to be fully with.
So make not only your life better, also the lives of those you take those opportunities to be fully with.

Episode 6 The Power of Small Changes

'Be Inspired' Series offers quick bite-sized inspirations to be and feel better in your life experience. Start learning how to make a difference daily in your life, starting today!
In Episode 6 we are inspired to use our heart and mind on a daily basis.  We find out the importance of focus and the practise of consistency and how small changes can make a difference in our daily life.
Hi  I’m Urban Sundvall and I’d like to welcome everyone to Episode 6 in the “Inspired Daily Series”  so that we can all learn to be inspired to use our minds  and our heart on a daily basis. To inspire ourselves for a better life.
These ‘bite sized’ episodes are designed for you to easily chew them over, to gain clarity in what it means,& How large the value of apply it In Your life is, for You.
As listening to this ‘inspired daily series’ offers us all an opportunity to reflect and deeply contemplate the meanings for each of us as an individual.
Life is so much more than the mundane repetitive daily tasks and experiences we all have in our lives.
Even though it sometimes has been too easy to get bogged down in those things, what this is really about is finding our own pathway to the Inspirations that lift us up and out of the mind numbing mundane.
Sure, many of those mundane things need to occur in our lives, simply so life can practically function.
However, by spending more of our time in life focusing on the simple beautiful things going on all around us we can make the feel of our lives be better brighter more joyful.
Sitting writing this today I notice the fragrance of jasmine filling the air. Lifting my eyes off the screen, even for a few moments, to notice the brightness of the white flowers against the green foliage of that jasmine plant sprawling through the understory of the bushes planted there and further still, up, over and through the wooden fence, makes a difference.
This short momentary break fills me with joy and gratitude.
I could of course instead have chosen to notice one of the pile of wood chips I have around the yard and considered the backbreaking work it’ll take to move and spread it. I didn’t though, except briefly to write this bit. Then refocused on the fragrance of jasmine again with its more beneficial feelings.
The wood chip focus would not have brought the same amount of joy as the jasmine however, so for me it’s a no-brainer. I choose joy and gratitude precisely because it’s improving my state of being, my life experience.
Every moment of every day we all make simple choices of where to focus and each focus also means deleting focus on something else.
We all have the privilege as humans to choose.
At its simplest level what this means is we can choose to either delete delete focus on the stuff we could feel bad about or the stuff we can feel good about.
I spent far too long in my younger years on the less appealing side of that equation to not realise how easily one can create and maintain habits.
By making the small focus adjustments consistently on to the mor appealing side, we can all start building better habits and therefore feeling better.
Consistency is the key.
Some might not, at this moment have the easy choice I did, perhaps no pleasant fragrances, views of a garden or birdsong to hear. Perhaps just the drone of an aircon or sounds of other people working and talking. Oh, hang on,  perhaps one can again choosing to focus on the beneficial aspects of that. Feeling cool on a hot day or warm on a cold day. Perhaps grateful to in some small way have some people around rather than no one. Breathing Or earning a living rather than the alternatives.
Let’s face it we all know there are better things to focus on. It’s about getting into the practice of doing it consistently so that is the habit you have.
Our life experience and how we view it consider it is so dependent on our own choices!
Consider this, even not choosing is simply about actually choosing to stick with old habits instead of going to the effort of making the choice.
AND the real beauty of it all is that as humans we do hav the ability to choose, so do choose!

'Be Inspired' Series offers quick bite-sized inspirations to be and feel better in your life experience. Start learning how to make a difference daily in your life, starting today!
In Episode 5 we want you to start to feel even better about yourself. We will take a few moments to consider a series of questions to help you to inspire yourself to step out of holding yourself back from important things in your life.

Episode 5 in the “Inspired Daily Series”
Hi  I’m Urban Sundvall and I’d like to welcome you to Episode 5 in the “Inspired Daily Series”  so that we can all keep learning to be inspired to use mind and heart on a daily basis to build a better life.
These ‘bite sized’ episodes are designed for you to actively consider, to gain clarity in what it means & How large the value of apply it In Your life is, for You.
Inspiration is The main reason I am asking you to take a few moments to consider the following questions.
To help You inspire Yourself to step out of holding yourself back in some important things in your life. So You can feel even better about Yourself. In earlier years I held myself back far too much for far too long. Which is why I want to help You Be Inspired to make Your Life the best You Can.

So here we go:
What if situations, family, friends or experiences no longer had the ability to throw you off track ?
What if You can truly program Your unconscious?
And what if doing that means you can work in harmony with the unconscious part of You that runs Your great habits?
What if You, Your body and Your Heart ❣and both parts of mind learn to work together instead of battling?
What if You had the tools needed to succeeded what you put your mind to?
What if the only mental outlook you need to have, to make your life as successful as is a dream for you; is to pursue that dream with an obsessive persistence and joy?
And What if consistency in persistence is actually easy?
What if you turned that dream of yours into a goal, in other words it has both an Action Plan and a completion date?
What if You went from I wish or I want, to using the Powerful emotions that are part and parcel of “I MUST”!!!
What  if You come and work with me so You Do Really, discover the very best of who you can be. Yes the very best of who you can be?
The benefits of doing New Neuroscience Aligned Hypno-Coaching approach  is the additional support system that is there for you!
My second reason, for all the questions, is that I listen and I hear. Over the years I’ve found that many, in the beginning had not understood how the conscious mind work we do here affects that subconscious mind of theirs, and therefore makes practical difference in results gained.
Questions are a key component of taking charge of your mind. As long as they are the right type of questions.
A free initial consultation to answer your questions is also available.
Thank You for listening and I look forward to your comments and hopefully You sharing your own success stories here or on Urban Hypnotherapy Facebook page, in ways that also can help others, to see their way clear of the so called limitations. BTW, on that point, if you’d prefer me to share your story anonymously just PM me Om FB.

Episode 4 Laura's Inspirational Story

'Be Inspired' Series offers quick bite-sized inspirations to be and feel better in your life experience. Start learning how to make a difference daily in your life, starting today!
Episode 4 shares another inspirational story this time about 'Laura' and how she changed the course of her family history with a combination of different things which  included Hypnosis and Epigenetics.
Hi  I’m Urban Sundvall and I’d like to welcome you to Episode 4 in the “Inspired Daily Series”  so that we can all learn to be inspired to use mind and heart on a daily basis for a better life.
These ‘bite sized’ episodes are designed for you to easily chew them over, to gain clarity in what it means,& How large the value of apply it In Your life is, for You. Ok so in The last episode I mentioned that this one is in part about someone who changes their “gene expression” as it’s called. In fact it has turned out to be entirely about that.

Let me tell you the story that one of my clients told me about her family.
She started by saying “I’m here to change the course of my family history”
I asked her what she meant and she told me that my story of recovery from Strokes has Inspired her to see what her mind can achieve.
My family history is riddled with cancer she said, sadly. Most of the women have had cancer, specifically mostly breast cancer. My mother three aunts and both grandmother and great grandmother all died from it!
My sister has had both her breasts removed to prevent it from happening to her. I did think I would have to do the same. Not now though!!
It turns out that one of my other clients is her friend and first told her about my story and then a few weeks later retold the epigenetics research I had  mentioned.
So she said I’m here for you to fix me!
Now Of course I told her “no magic wands here, but if you are prepared to do some work... who knows what you can achieve by doing some hypnosis work and learning some thing that I think may help you.”
Although she is willing for me to share the basics of her story, for the sake of her family I have been asked to call her Laura instead of her real name.
So Laure it is.
Laura came and worked on herself here and read some great books that I often recommend to clients with genetic issues.
She really took onboard the value that Neuroscience through Epigenetics has shown us.
I also, as per usual taught her self-hypnosis to use at home after we finished our work, as part of her ongoing support system toward achieving her goals.
Although Laura also had many other health issues, including obesity, it only took her a year of doing the work to get the major physical health and immune system to be functioning  well. We included the important food and exercise and getting the emotions right. As well as our sessions, I taught her to use self-hypnosis  as a part of her physical, intellectual and emotional journey to get all of those environments really healthy. It was then that the epigenetic effects started.
There is much more to her story and jumping straight to outcomes, Both Laura and he doctor agree, her results are outstanding. Even better than she hoped for.
In my view she is an Inspirational Hero who deserves so much more recognition than she wants or is willing to accept.
She has a great GP who has supported her well and, I’m informed, told her on the qt to ignore certain unprofessional comments given to her by some others “who should know better”.
I am grateful that she believes that it is important for the message to keep getting out, that we as humans can do so much more than most believe.
I truly hope you are seeing the value here. For you too. We all have Minds and Hearts capable of making the most astounding changes to improve our lives.Thank You for listening and I look forward to your comments and hopefully sharing your own stories here or on Urban Hypnotherapy Facebook page, in ways that also can help others, to see their way clear of so called limitations.

Episode 3 Can our Brains can Change and Adapt?

22/9/2018

'Be Inspired' Series offers quick bite-sized inspirations to be and feel better in your life experience. Start learning how to make a difference daily in your life, starting today!
In Episode 3 we will learn how our brain is adaptable and changeable by what we decide to think and feel and that change is possible for you too!
Hi  I’m Urban Sundvall and I’d like to welcome you to Episode 3 in the “Inspired Daily Series”.
These ‘bite sized’ episodes are designed for you to easily chew them over, to gain clarity in what it means,& How large the value of apply it In Your life is, for You. You’ll find additional information available by clicking links below the videos.
As I mentioned last time, this episode is about research that is valuable for you to understand to truly expand on your sense of how unlimited our human minds and brains truly are. It is also to start giving you some valuable tools for your use in your life journey.
It used to be believed that the brain was ‘hard wired’sort of fixed and unchangable.
Scientifically speaking those theories of brain became unviable when a band of brilliant scientists in the late 1960’s and early ‘70’s made a series of important and, back then, unexpected discoveries of how brains adapted and changed their very structure with each different activity it performed.
I don’t know if you already knew this or if it’s new Information for You, however, let’s Really have a closer look at This and why this is so very important, so consider what it means, in practical terms for your life.
What science has shown us is that all of us, and that certainly includes You, yes You, can change the physical structure of Your brain by what You chose and decide to think and to feel, and yes even how you move.
In other words, by understanding that Neuroplasticity of brains, as they chose to call it, gives you the freedom in the fact that none of us are stuck in how we function. We can improve and adapt.
Let’s take that one step further, for the sake of what’s practical. It does not matter what your life situation has been or, especially, how you dealt with that before. Change is possible The last episode was all about helping you to ‘know’ that every one of us, not just Barbara Arrowsmith Young,  are never  stuck where we are starting from or even how we have fared after brain trauma. I am certainly a witness to that, by the recovery from Strokes, as you can read in the About section of urbanhypnotherapy.com.au.
One of these scientists even demonstrated that thinking, learning, acting and emotions can turn our genes off or on and therefore shaping out brain anatomy and our behaviour, which as Norman Doidge, Doctor, Psychiatrist and best selling Author, pointed out; is surely one of the most extraordinary discoveries of the last hundred years. Imagine that. You can turn off the genes that were a detrimental part of your family medical history!
Four things that matter, for You to learn to ‘Take Charge of’, to make sure that You are ‘In Charge’, of your experience of life:
  1. Great Decisions made, that are Important, to You and how consistent You are in the follow through on those decisions, in Your everyday experience.
  2. The emotional content that you apply to the decisions you make.
Number Three and Four are really important things You will discover that I refer to, time and time again in various ways, as part of this “Inspired Daily Series”, simply because they have the most beneficial effects on how you feel and function in your life.
3.  Is your Language patterns.
4. Is Your Imagination.
And I’ll talk more specifically about those another episodes.
In Creating Your changes in how you deal with yourself and therefore life circumstances, means first becoming aware of how you how you up until now have operated those four things that matter. Most people have far to little conscious awareness of those things because they have been unconscious habits.
That awareness will make the work of adapting them to function in better ways for you, be so much easier.
So your important Tool Number One is to really increase awareness of how you have done those things, up till this moment.
A fundamental law of human behaviour to understand is, that none of us change anything unless we are aware of and acknowledge that which needs to change.
When Clients work with me they very quickly discover that I won’t let them do themselves the disservice of denying behaviours that influence their lives in a detrimental way. The easiest way of doing that is to give them Tool Number One that I just gave you. To increase awareness.
In the next episode I, in part, want to help you be inspired by some one who used the principles of changing Gene Expression that I spoke of earlier.
Thank You for listening and I look forward to your comments and hopefully sharing your own stories here, in ways that also can help others, to see their way clear of so called limitations.

Episode 2 Don't Believe Everything Your Told

'Be Inspired' Series offers quick bite-sized inspirations to be and feel better in your life experience. Start learning how to make a difference daily in your life, starting today!
Episode 2 - Be Inspired by the inspiring journey of a remarkable woman Barbara Arrowsmith-Young and how this can relate to you as you start to make changes in your life.
Hi  I’m Urban Sundvall and I’d like to welcome you to the second episode in the “Inspired Daily Series”.
These episodes are be in small ‘bite sized’ pieces so you can easily chew them over in your mind, to work out what the meaning is and How large the value, of apply it In Your life, is for You.
Today is a great day so let yourself take the short few minutes this episode takes, to relax and gain value with some real inspiration, as well as the understanding of the ‘behind the scenes’ functions, that this life story relates to. It is also about the practicalities we can all learn to apply in every area of our lives.
Barbara Arrowsmith Young is the inspiring woman I mentioned In the last episode. She is someone who had a confusing assortment of serious learning disabilities to cope with. Although in the era she grew up in, in the 1950s that  term of  “learning disabilities” would not be used for another two decades, so there were no visits to medical specialists or psychologists and certainly no special-ed teachers to help her. Another part of the confounding problem was that the serious difficulties she had, she also had some areas of brilliance, such as an amazing memory.
Barbara understood nothing in real time and would have to replay conversations over and over, in her head, up to twenty times, to make sense of it. By the time she got to the end of a sentence, she could not recall what the beginning of it meant.
An area of the brain called Broca’s area was not working properly so she had great difficulties pronouncing words.
What’s known as Spatial Reasoning that we mostly take for granted, was a lacking capacity for Barbara which meant that she had an inability to construct the necessary mental image of the pathway to get from here to the other side of the room that the rest of us do without even realising it. We also use this to enable ourselves to declutter a desk or get to where we left the car keys. She was always getting lost.
What’s called Kinesthetic perception allows us to know where our body and arms and legs are in space to coordinate movement. Or to recognise by touch something in a bag or pocket. This also did not work for Barbara, nor did her sense of touch work very well on her left side.
I could go on but I think you  have some concept of her difficulties.
This story does indeed thou have a real up side to it.
Having to work harder than anyone to achieve some semblance of functionality in living and learning, was probably a great training ground to become the inspiration she is!
By understanding the implication of a study conducted by Mark Rosenzweig, and I hope I have pronounced that right, which was one of the first studies to demonstrate Neuroplasticity (or adaptability) of the brain; made her excited.
It made her realise she did not just have to compensate for her deficits, she decided to find ways to test if she could actually overcome them. By doing something scientists weren’t at that time, creating a breakthrough in combining the work of Mark Rosenzweig with that of Russian researcher and author Alexandr Luria. She created a series of mental exercises and  she didn’t know if they would work, however they did extraordinarily well.
I am cutting a long story short here and would encourage you to follow some of the links below to get full benefit of what she did and the implications for you and your life too.
So the short of it is that Barbara Arrowsmith Young retrained her brain not just to be ‘normal’, to become extraordinary and now has not just one school to help children overcome ‘learning difficulties’ she has programs she designed operating all over the world including several here in Australia.
She is a genuine inspiration because she has given us a tremendous example of the fact that it does not matter where you start from.
What matters is the effort you are willing to put in to change your mind and Brain, your habits and your outcomes. To design and build better life.
Spoiler alert, here comes the plug. As a therapist who uses Hypnosis, I know that miraculous as it can be Hypnotherapy is not a magic wand. It does require  knowledge of desired outcome and the work involved in reinforcing, in your life, the value of achieving your goal. So contact me, I’d love to help.   Ok plug is over.
Throughout this “Inspired Daily Series”  You will get some variety in inspiration, some from amazing people as today subject, some from valuable inspirational insights as to what’s possible, from my years of having the privilege of working with some everyday people achieving outstanding results for their lives. I will also pass on simple tips you can use to make your life better.
You are always going to find the web links down below this series episodes, so that you can continue by picking up more information inspiration, to add to your journey to be the best and most effective You that You can be. Our next episode is, in part, about giving You some inspiring tools to use on your journey and in part about other research that’ll help open your eyes as to what’s possible for you too,
Thank You for listening and I look forward to your comments and hopefully sharing your own stories here, in ways that also can help others, to see their way clear of so called limitations. This is Urban Sundvall at urbanhypnotherapy.com.au and I’ll talk with you soon to establish an ongoing  Conversation about Inspiration

Episode 1 'Be Inspired' Series

15/9/2018

'Be Inspired' Series offers quick bite-sized inspirations to be and feel better in your life experience.
1st Episode is a brief introduction to the series. Start learning how to make a difference daily in your life, starting today!
Hi and welcome to the very first episode in the “Inspired Daily Series”.
This “Inspired Daily Series” will always exist, as a way for you to reinforce or learn something new so You can retrain yourself to be, feel and take action, on a daily basis, in ways to be a better You.
To function better in your life for you.

My name is Urban Sundvall and For You, the  Listener, you’ll find you can learn to prosper and grow as a Human from what You will learn Here. It is my intention to present you with some Nuggets of Wisdom that I have acquired over the years. These Gems
💎are in and of themselves enough to turn your life around from the fundamental misunderstandings most of us have suffered from.
Misunderstandings that have, before today, in some ways held you back, in life, from feeling truly great about how you deal with your own physical and emotional, relationship and financial wellbeing. So... let’s change that.
This is about putting together how many successful people, over generations, have learned how to Be In Charge of their lives and then combining that with the insight that Neuroscience gives us.
Leading us to how we can apply these things in our own lives, relationships and work, profession or business .
I do not know if you are here because, you discovered it on my website or if have found this on YouTube, so let me say this:
regardless of whether You want to make a difference in your life experience emotionally, physically, intellectually or even if it’s  financially or relationship wise, you can as a part of your journey through this series, discover how to do it in a better way.
Be reassured this “Inspired Daily Series” is not going to start as a free resource and then suddenly be something you are charged for.
It is in fact my contribution toward You improving Your life.
It is given with respect and based on Gratitude for all I have been given, shown, taught as well as made to dig deeper for, by inspiration. You may also find it of value to look at the About section on
urbanhypnotherapy.com.auto understand my journey and what brought me to this decision to share. Perhaps you’ll find some inspiration in my journey too.
I genuinely hope that You’ll get as excited about this as I am, in sharing it with you.
Let’s start with an overview of a human beings latent possibilities.
Brain Science also known as Neuroscience tells us that the human brain is the single most complex discovery science has ever investigated.
When you put that into context, with consideration of the full extent of scientific investigation, isn’t it fascinating that we all have, and use in some fashion, one of these complexities. Right there in our head, every day of our life!
Neuroscience also tells us that we are, as someone phrased it, “the Ultimate Adaption Machine”.
Let’s have a very brief look at how we can be that way.
We have between 86 and 100 billion neurons in our physical Brain and each of those neurons have connections with between 10,000 and 100,000 other neurons. In other words, more connections in our Brain than the number of stars science is aware of at this time. It is those connections, neural networks as they are known, that enables us to be far more than we might have previously even suspected.
Let’s look at the practicality, and l’m all about the practical stuff. The practicality of what this means, for us all as humans, is that we truly can step out of the limitations we might have thought we had. We can adapt.we can improve. No matter where we start.
Although the rest of the series will be so much more about giving You the Practicalities of who to gain clarity from and the what and how to do, this very First episode or ‘Nugget of Wisdom’ in the “Inspired Daily Series” is just my way of giving you an introduction to the series and to You understanding that You are going to learn to use, the fact that You are so much more able, capable and resourceful than you might previously have understood. Even if you already know that, as a concept.
On that point of, no matter where you start, I’d like to introduce the subject of the next nugget in the “Inspired Daily Series”.
It’s about a woman who is now successfully running highly specialised Schools in many countries around the world. Even though she started school life with her parents being told her learning disabilities were so severe it meant she was unteachable. A truly inspiring episode about a truly inspiring woman!
And of course we’ll tie this back into practicalities for you and your life.
I suggest that you head straight into that one so you immediately start to gain, at least a better understanding and also take advantage of the beginning of actions you can take to be more In Charge of you.
Thank You for listening and I look forward to your comments and hopefully sharing your own stories here, in ways that also can help others, to see their way clear of the so called limitations.

Individuals as possible to improve their life experience.

“I realised that there is no possibility of being able to help as many people as I am determined to help, here in my Therapy Clinic. I only have so much time each day. Hence this series is here to help you feel better and for me to reach a wider audience. ” - Urban Sundvall

The Inspired Series is created by:
